The community is in mourning following a tragic incident that occurred at a residence in Granada Hills. Local residents are still reeling from the shocking crime that took place.
Authorities were alerted to a distress call on Saturday evening at approximately 7 p.m. Upon entering the residence located in the 600 block of Lerdo Avenue, law enforcement made a disturbing discovery. Four individuals have tragically lost their lives due to gunshot wounds.
A tragic incident unfolded as a father in his 80s allegedly took the lives of his wife, also in her 80s, as well as their two adult children, both in their 40s. According to authorities, the father tragically took his own life by shooting himself.
“The local resident expressed their shock to KTLA 5’s Carlos Saucedo,” said the source. Unexpected events can occur even in the most familiar neighborhoods. Visitors flocked to the property on Sunday to pay their respects, with many leaving flowers at the gate in front of the home.

Eva Amar resides in the residence situated directly across from the location where the incident occurred. According to her, the family was known for their quiet demeanor, yet they always displayed kindness in their interactions. However, there were reports of potential commotion emanating from the residence on Friday evening.
During an interview with KTLA 5, she mentioned that she had heard something the night before. “There were reports of loud shouting, but the source of the noise remains unclear from this vantage point.”
According to authorities, a witness was present inside the residence during the shooting incident. The witness reported that a female individual managed to protect herself by barricading in a room and remained unharmed. According to authorities, she guided them to a section of the house where several victims were located.
LAPD Capt. Kelly Muniz described the scene as incredibly terrifying and horrific. “With four individuals tragically losing their lives, the only silver lining is the presence of a surviving witness to shed light on this incident.”
