A young mother is suspected of recording herself while abusing her 2-month-old daughter in a startling Florida incident, then emailing the unsettling video to the child’s father. Reyanna Icilma Thomas, 22, was the mother who was taken into custody after the father reported the incident to the North Miami police.
According to the graphic footage, Thomas is seen hitting the baby and yelling profanities at him while the child is upset. Thomas is also charged with sending the father a picture of their daughter with a blanket over her mouth and nose, which appears to be impeding her breathing.
Thomas allegedly wrote, “I’m stuck with this thing until she dies,” along with the picture, expressing her displeasure with the child’s paternity and her wish to enjoy her twenties. Thomas allegedly refused to unlock the door for police when they arrived at her home, so a handyman let them in.
Thankfully, the infant didn’t seem to have any injuries. Jail records show that Thomas is currently facing accusations of child abuse, however, it’s unclear if she has filed a plea. This instance serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the prevalence of child abuse and the necessity of providing victims with support and intervention right away.

She expressed a strong desire to enjoy her 20s free from the obligations of parenthood and blamed the father for her incapacity to love their child. Her statements betrayed a deep sense of hatred towards him. Police arrived at Thomas’ flat as soon as the father alerted the authorities. Officers used a handyman to get inside the house even though she didn’t want to.
