Alleged Assault Suspect Taken into Custody in South L.A.

Authorities have reported that a man, who was wanted for an alleged assault with a deadly weapon, has been apprehended after barricading himself inside a residence in South Los Angeles. The incident took place on Thursday, as confirmed by sources.

Authorities were alerted to gunfire in the Manchester Square neighborhood on West 80th Street around 11:45 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Police swiftly arrived at the scene in response to the report.

An individual, identified as an adult male, reportedly defied commands to exit the premises. It is alleged that the suspect may be in possession of rifles.

A video shared on the Citizen App revealed a significant police presence outside a residence, with multiple LAPD SWAT vehicles in the vicinity. The street at Van Ness Avenue was blocked off for several hours during the standoff.

It remains uncertain whether there were any other individuals present in the residence during the incident. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
