Charges of rape against a 10-year-old child led to the arrest of a man in Manhattan.

After reportedly meeting a girl online, a man in East Harlem was arrested and is now in jail on rape charges. The victim is 10 years old.

Bronx native Drequan Drayton-Howard, 23, surrendered to authorities on Wednesday. According to reports, Drayton-Howard met the victim on Bumble.

On January 6, he allegedly picked up the woman and brought her to an apartment close to Third Avenue and East 122nd Street, according to the police. Drayton-Howard is facing accusations of child endangerment, sexual assault, and rape.

Community organizer Alpheaus Marcus expressed his gratitude that the community intervened and removed the individual from the streets. Because, ultimately, there are predators on the internet, and this might happen again if we do not monitor our children’s online activities, parents should take a more active role in their children’s lives. Before this happens to someone else, we want to put a stop to it. The victim was taken to the hospital, treated, and then sent home.
