Canada becomes second most drug-addicted country in world, study says

A lot of people in Canada are hooked on drugs. The country is ranked as having the second most drug addicts in the world. According to a new study by the vaping goods website Go Smoke Free, Canada has 2.46 drug use disorders per 100 people, which is second only to the U.S. with 3.42 cases per 100 people.

Also, 85.7% of Canadians are regularly using social media, making the country the fourth most addicted to it. Also, the country was placed fifth for its sugar addiction. Every year, it brings in 2.7 million tonnes of the sweet stuff.

The study looked at up-to-date information from 14 harmful behaviors in 200 countries. The information came from the World Health Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and the National Library of Medicine in the United States.

Drug use disorders, online gambling, a s*x index score, screen time, the number of online gamers, people involved on social media, the average number of hours worked each year, and imports of coffee, tea, sugar, and meat were some of the behaviors that were considered addictive.

With a score of 56.14 out of 100, Canada was placed 15th in the world for all addictions. With a score of 66.79, Romania was at the top of the list. Most people in that country drink from a bottle; adults drink an average of 17 liters of booze every year.

France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Chile, Lithuania, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic were the other countries in the top 10.

According to a statement from Go Smoke Free, many of the top 10 countries have high GDPs. This means that people with higher incomes can afford to feed their highly addictive behaviors and are therefore more likely to become hooked.
