This country is banning disposable vapes in youth vaping

It is against the law in the UK to sell throwaway vapes. This is to stop the rise in vaping among teens and protect their health.

A press release from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Monday said, “I am taking bold action to ban disposable vapes, which have led to the rise in vaping among young people. I am also bringing forward new powers (measures) to limit vape flavors, introduce plain packaging, and change how vapes are displayed in shops.”

The U.K. government also says that nicotine pouches and other vaping options will not be allowed to be sold to children. Stores that do sell vapes to children will start getting fined.

New rules aren’t supposed to go into effect until next year, but the government says they’re doing them because of the big rise in vaping among teens and young adults, which is mostly due to the success of disposable vapes.

It is against the law in the U.K. to sell tobacco or vapes to people under the age of 18. However, the government says that in the last three years, the number of kids using vapes has tripled, with 9% of 11–15-year-olds now using them. Also, in the last two years, the number of 11–17-year-olds using disposable devices has nearly ninefold.

As Sunak said, “No one knows what vaping’s long-term effects are, and the nicotine in them can be very addicting. This means that vaping can be a good way to help smokers quit, but selling vapes to kids is not okay.” “These changes will protect our children’s health for a long time and will go along with our promise that kids 15 years old or younger will never be legally sold cigarettes again.”
