Covered California executive director Jessica Altman stated that the goal is to provide health insurance coverage to all Californians who require it for the remainder of 2024. By extending the open-enrollment period, individuals will have sufficient time to enroll and obtain the coverage they need.

The incident was linked to a third-party vendor responsible for supporting the organization’s phone lines.
According to officials, the incident only affected the telephone systems and did not have any impact on enrollment and eligibility systems. A news release stated that there is currently no evidence of any personal information being compromised.
