Son at court front after allegedly stabbing mother in Sydney’s east

A man appeared in court today following an incident where he reportedly stabbed his mother in Sydney’s eastern suburbs yesterday afternoon.A 41-year-old woman remains hospitalized after reportedly sustaining multiple stab wounds to her face and chest. The alleged perpetrator is identified as 21-year-old Jordan Fahy, who is said to be her son. According to the police, an argument broke out between the two individuals at a unit block on Roberts Avenue in Randwick. The 21-year-old is accused of assaulting his mother by stabbing her with a paint scraper at 4.30pm.

Newly released CCTV footage provides a closer look at the aftermath of the reported incident. A tradesperson was observed pursuing and apprehending the suspected perpetrator, while patiently awaiting the arrival of law enforcement at the location.
“I witnessed three individuals sprinting down the street, with one of them visibly injured and bloodied. Without hesitation, bystander Bill immediately intervened, providing assistance to the injured party,” recounted Bill in an interview with 9News.

Nick Bourdo, a bystander, was the individual who dialed emergency services. “I urged them, ‘Hey guys, it’s crucial that you bring someone here,’” he informed 9News. According to him, their response was, “We’re doing our best, but there’s heavy traffic at 5:00.”

“I expressed my understanding of the situation, noting that she is currently facing challenges.” A single mother is currently hospitalized at St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious yet stable condition. Fahy was transported to Prince of Wales Hospital under police supervision for evaluation, but has since been released. A man has been charged with a serious domestic violence wounding offense.
