Dolly Parton and Carl Dean shared one of country music\u2019s longest marriages, marrying in 1966 and remaining together until Dean\u2019s death in 2025. Yet despite their nearly six decades together, they never had children. Parton spoke openly about the subject over the years, explaining that when they were younger, they actually assumed becoming parents would eventually be part of their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It simply didn\u2019t happen. Parton also dealt with endometriosis and underwent a partial hysterectomy in her 30s, but she later explained that motherhood had never been an overwhelming personal desire for her. Their lives simply unfolded differently than they initially expected, and Dolly ultimately embraced that path rather than regretting it.
