Everyone wore their finest clothing and held the rigid expressions common in early photography. But decades later, when the photograph was carefully enlarged, one small detail drew attention\u2014the older sister appeared to be concealing something unusual in her right hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At first, the object looked like nothing more than a shadow or a fold in her dress. A closer examination, however, revealed what appeared to be a tiny metal object clenched tightly between her fingers. Unlike the relaxed positioning of everyone else’s hands, hers was deliberately closed around it, as though she had been instructed not to let it show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The answer was eventually found among belongings that had remained with the family for generations.
