These Are the Consequences of Using Too Much Nail Glue

When I noticed my fingernail becoming thick, dark, and painful, I assumed it was just a minor problem that would disappear on its own. Instead of giving my nails a break, I kept applying artificial nails with generous amounts of nail glue, convinced that covering the damage would make it less noticeable. I had no idea I was making the problem worse.

Over time, moisture became trapped beneath the artificial nail, and the constant use of glue prevented the natural nail from recovering. The damaged area gradually lifted away from the nail bed, creating the perfect environment for irritation and discoloration. What started as a cosmetic concern slowly turned into something impossible to ignore.

According to the fictional story, I finally visited a nail specialist after the discomfort became too much to handle. After examining the nail, the specialist explained that repeated use of excessive nail glue without giving the natural nail time to heal had contributed to the damage. I was told to remove the artificial nails completely and begin a proper recovery routine.

The healing process required patience. I stopped using artificial nails for several weeks, kept the affected nail clean and dry, and allowed healthy new nail growth to gradually replace the damaged portion. As the months passed, the nail slowly regained its normal appearance, proving that giving it time to recover was far more effective than covering the problem.

The experience taught me that beauty treatments should never come at the expense of nail health. Using too much nail glue or applying artificial nails continuously without breaks can lead to damaged, weakened nails that take months to recover. Sometimes the best solution is to let your natural nails heal before reaching for another cosmetic fix.
