Rats and cockroaches can turn a quiet home into a frustrating problem, especially when they discover an easy source of food. In this fictional household tip, one family noticed pests repeatedly appearing around their pantry and decided to try a simple method using something they already had in the kitchen: uncooked rice.

Instead of mixing dangerous homemade poisons into the food, they placed small containers of dry rice near the areas where they had noticed activity. The rice itself wasn’t meant to kill anything.
